# Deposits & Withdrawals

### Collateral

All collateral is **USDC on Solana**. There are no deposit or withdrawal fees beyond Solana network fees.

When you open a position, the USDC it needs moves from your profile into the Imperial vault in the same transaction that records your order. If the order is rejected, it moves straight back.

### Your balance

The app shows one **Balance** per profile. It includes cash in your profile and collateral backing your positions. **Available to withdraw** is the part you can take out right now.

### Withdrawing

* Withdrawals are always paid to your own profile; no one else can redirect them.
* Funds backing open positions can be withdrawn only down to what those positions need. Withdrawing collateral raises your liquidation risk.
* A withdrawal usually takes about a minute.
* After you close an isolated position, its collateral is returned to your profile automatically.

### Profit settlement

Your deposits can always be withdrawn. **Profit** sometimes needs to settle first:

* If a profitable fill can't be independently checked against a second price source, the profit is held for up to **8 hours** before it becomes withdrawable. It stays in your balance and counts toward your margin while it settles.
* Platform-wide, profit withdrawals are rate-limited per hour and per day as a safety measure. Principal is never rate-limited.

> **Note:** Settling profit is still your money. It counts toward your margin and your PnL; it just can't leave the platform until it settles.
